Melanie was distracted from Lena's captivating story when Jared hitched himself up in the Jeep. He called out for the last of the people to run in, then he started the engine and they were off. Mel and the rest of them bounced up and down on the rocky terrain, driving deeper and deeper into the night.
"Angie... and you too, in there, Lena, you have an amazing talent," Melanie said, and that was all that she could muster.
The story had completely distracted Mel from all her other worries, made her forget her past and her future and just live in the present. It was really nice, for a change.
"So where are we headed, Jared?"

"Thanks, Melanie, Jared." Angie brushed a lock of hair away from her face. It wasn't that good. It was very rough, could have been a lot better. Angie continued berating herself in this manner as she left the truck. She turned swiftly outside, giddy with freedom. Lena was happy, perhaps a bit ticked off at Angie for beating herself up. We get abused everyday, why should you do it to yourself?
Angie sighed. It was very true, though she didn't like to admit it. Life in the caves was... difficult. People, especially humans, couldn't understand why they chose to come here, to shun the Souls. Like anything they didn't understand, humans tended to shun it.

Jared thought hard. Where were they going to go on the raid. Usually he picked and that was that but he felt like mixing it up a bit, something new to Jared. "Hey... where do you... guys want... to go?"He had to pause in mid sentence due to the tough terrain. The dessert was still hot but he was thankful they still had time before the sun came up. By the time they hit the van, the sun may just begin to peak. Jared didn't want that. He stepped on the gas harder and the jeep started to go 70. The bumps on the 'road' made the car go up an inch or so every time they hit one. Now this was starting to get fun. You could even detect a smile on Jared's lips.

Melanie looked around at everyone else in the van. No one seemed to be responding to Jared's question very well, so she answered herself.
"Well, I know we need to get to the market for sure, but that's all I know of. Oh, and we're running out of Heal," she added as an after thought.
Mel looked at her nails and fidgeted. She wasn't as strong as most people thought. She had so many fears it wasn't even funny.

Ben was still resting when he saw the others drive by in the jeep. He sighed as he saw them head in the direction of the market, "typical" he muttered to himself "thousands of places to explore in the desert and there go the same shop every time". Climbing back onto his bike Ben kicked of and set of in pursuit.
As he rode Ben guessed how the raid would play out, they would probably just sneak into the store, take whatever and walk out. Then as they drove back Jared would say someing like "Good job team, i know it was tough but it went brilliantly" "No Jared," Ben muttered "it won't go brilliantly, not if i can do somein' about it" The rest of the journey was spent thinking ways to ruin the raid and Jared in the process.
(I''m not sure that made sense, but oh well)

Wanda was practically asleep from the story. Not that it was boring but because she was so tired from trying to race with Angie. Her little body became so tired so quickly. Though when Jared started the jeep she woke up instantly. "Wha, what?" Her voice sounded like a small child interupting her parents fighting. She heard Mel say that they needed to go shopping and she smiled, "I got that one!" Her voice was giddy and she clapped her small hands together.
