Noelle could hear the dull roar of the river room ahead. She had stopped by her new room to pick up some towels and soap for her and Kali's bath, and she set them down by the river side when she entered the large, dark cavern. Turning around to Kali, whom she couldn't see well in the darkness, she said,"Well, this is it. This is the river room, where everyone in the caves comes and bathes."
Elle picked up a flashlight lying on the ground nearby and switched it on so that they could see. "Now, I know it's kinda dark, but we all learn to manage. You can wash yourself first, but hurry. We have a system worked out so that everyone can take a bath everyday, and we have about thirty minutes left. The soap stings a little, but you'll get used to that, too," Elle explained, handing Kali her towel and bar of homemade soap.
Walking out toward the hallway, Elle turned and waved. "I'll be right outside in the hallway to give you some privacy, but if you need me just call. Clean yourself off good, ok?" she reassured Kali, smiling. Then, Elle waltzed out into the wide and damp hallway, sitting down a few feet from the entrance to the river room to let Kali have some alone time.

Mel had just arrived at the entrance of the bathing caves to find someone dancing around the outside of it, obviously occupied. She was a little disappointed that she couldn't take a bath at the moment, but she settled for waiting. Maybe even a conversation with the girl who's face she knew, but couldnt put a name to it.
"I'm guessing it's occupied?" Mel said, her thoughts wandering to where Jared was. What was he doing? She hadn't seen him since she awoke. Is he okay? She began to hear her heart beat faster, but then calmed herself down. Calm, Melanie, stop freaking out..

Kali could smell the sweet scent, and hear the rushing of the waters in the room. She listened intently to Noelle's words, trying not to miss onne word. She walked reluctantly into the dark Bathing Room with her soap and towel.
She undressed slowly, not really knowing what to expect. Kali eased into the small pool calmly, the warm water soothing her gently. Elle was right...the soap stung, bad. But it felt good to be clean. She had been told to hurry, so she washed her clothes quickly, but thoroughly. She could also hear faint voices in the other room, which probably meant there were people waiting. Kali inched out of the pool, not wanting to leave it behind, and wrapped the towel tightly around her body and rushed out.

[[Sorry! I can't think of how old Mel is. Ugh...]] As Elle sat in the dark hallway, she heard a few loud splashes from inside the river room. Then she could've sworn she heard some faint wincing. Haha, Kali's using the soap, Noelle thought, smiling to herself.
There came a pattering of feet from down the hallway, and Elle leaned her head out to see who it was. Walking up to her was a woman of about twenty three, slender and tall. Oh, I know her. I think Angie told me about her and, Wanda I think? She must be...huh. I can't remember her name, Elle tilted her head the way she always did when she tried to remember something.
"Oh, yes, she just stepped in. She's new to the caves and I'm trying to show her around a little, you know, give Mr. Jeb a break," she said, snapping into attention. "I'm Noelle by the way, I'm fairly new here myself. I've seen you around, and I'm sorry but I can't remember your name," she introduced herself, slowly getting to her feet to offer her hand.

***Sorry it's kinda short! *** Kali rushed out at first, but when she DID see an extra person, she slowed. "I'm guessing it's occupied?", a very beautiful woman said to Noelle, sounding a little shaky. "Oh, yes, she just stepped in. She's new to the caves and I'm trying to show her around a little, you know, give Mr. Jeb a break. I'm Noelle by the way, I'm fairly new here myself. I've seen you around, and I'm sorry but I can't remember your name." Noelle replied to the strange woman kindly. Kali suddenly got that odd feeling of not being wanted. But she sucked it up, joined Elle, and introduced herself as well, bravely, "Um...Hi. I'm Kali," And she thrust her arm out in front of her- extending it so that this woman could shake her hand-smiling gently.

Mel smiled at the brunette girl. She was friendly, Mel could tell that, and she was genuinely happy to be on this earth. Sometimes, she couldn't say the same for herself. It was hard, and there was nothing more orless to say about the subject matter, only that it was tough as hell and sometimes Mel knew all of them wanted out. Back to the present, Mel laughed.
"Jeb could use all the help he can get.. I'm Melanie, Mel for short, and it's nice of you. I've recently neglected my duties to show the new peoples around.. it's just been so busy. And I have this feeling thinks are going to stir up soon.." she said with an ominous tone, not meaning to reveal that much.
Another, small, blonde girl rush outt of the bathing rooms and Mel looked at her. She looked a little nervous and hesitant. Melanie smiled at her and took her hand, seeing it was a little red.
"Oh, don't worry, you'll get used to the soap, I promise," Mel said, thinking of her beginning experiences with that darn soap.

Kali thought she heard this woman tell Elle her name was Melanie, or Mel, for short. Once Mel saw Kali, she very kindy told Kali, "Oh, don't worry, you'll get used to the soap, I promise," Kali suddenly looked at her hands, and saw how firey red they were. They also felt firey. Kali chuckled softly, "Yea, it does burn," she said humorously, as she shook Melanie's hand gently.Kali was kinda surprised that Noelle didn't know Mel, though she didn't exacly know why. Maybe it was that Elle came off very confident and comfortable around the caves.

Mel's mind still wandered what on earth Jared was up too.. it was possible he was doing his regular Cave duties. Or maybe he was doing something else? Or maybe, she thought to herself bitterly, you're just being an impatient whiny girlfriend who needs t o stay focused and shut her mouth.. . Sometimes Mels till felt like Wanda was still there.. and sometimes she even missed her.
"So.. Kali, Noelle.. what are your stories?"

Elle smiled again when she saw Kali, who had just came out of the bath and was introducing herself to Mel. Wow, Kali's gotten brave. She'll do fine in the caves, Elle noted, happy for the girl.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Mel, and I hope that I can be of some use in the caves. After our baths I was going to show Kali how to hoe the cornfields," she added. 'Things are going to stir up soon'? Sounds like Mel knows something. But she let it go, it couldn't be anything too serious. Elle giggled as she looked at Kali again, seeing her tomato-red skin, definatly from the soap.
Admiring her two new friends, Elle noticed that Kali looked confused and Mel looked sort of, well, out of it. "Oh, our stories? I came here from Tennessee to visit my sick aunt about. . .six months ago. I'm a nurse-in-training, so I was staying with her to help her out of her sickness, but everyone began acting strange after about a month, including Aunt Lenny," she began sadly. "I ran away into the desert where I found an empty house, and I stayed there for a while. But I wound up in the desert again after supplies ran out and somehow I came here."
Turning to Kali, she added,"I'm not sure about Kali. She woke up only two hours ago and hasn't told me much about her travels." Elle wrapped an arm around the young girl's shoulders and asked,"What happened, Kali?"

Kali answered Melanie and Noelle almost instantly. "I came from a small town in Texas called Spyral. My best friend Karina told me about the souls and and I didn't want to believe her. But, she gave me a sheet of paper with strange drawings, and I later found out that they were the shapes of the mountains leading me here. Anywaus, my family came home, and were trying to convince me to go to the 'doctor' when I noticed that their eyes were cloudy. The next day, I 'got sick' and stayed home from college, while they went to school and work, and I left. I traveled for a week and a half, staying in bushes, or tops of trees, or wherever was available. And then I came...here."
Kali loved to tell stories, but this one hit really close to home. Maybe because I'm talking about home! Kali thought to herself, biting her lip.. "Yeah, I was so excited about starting college, and these freaking souls had to come and ruin it for me!" Kali said, chuckling quietly. "So, Mel. We answered your questions, do you mind answering some of mine? Or...ours?"
